Business Services | Using the Michigan Talent Bank
To Register Your Business on the Michigan Talent Bank
- Go to www.michworks.org to access the Michigan Talent Bank.
- Mouse over to the Employers drop down menu and click on Sign Up or click on New Employers Free Sign up under the Looking for Employees? heading to establish your account.
- Fill in the requested information. All fields marked with a red dot are required.
- Your Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) is mandatory and must be verifiable before access to the Talent Bank can be authorized.
- Create a User I.D. and Password. (6 – 14 characters in length) To help remember your Password, enter a Hint. Click on Submit
To Search For Resumes on the Michigan Talent Bank
Michigan Talent Bank Bringing People & Jobs Together
- Go to www.michworks.org to access the Michigan Talent Bank.
- Mouse over the Employer drop down menu to access the menu options or login under the Looking for Employees? heading.(Enter your User I.D. and Password.)
- Mouse over the Employer drop down menu and click on “Resume Search” for prospective employees from the Menu screen.
- From the Search Criteria screen we recommend that you start with a Text search with the option to expand the criteria by Job Location, Non-text and/or Job Titles.
To Search For Jobs on the Michigan Talent Bank
- Go to www.michworks.org to access the Michigan Talent Bank.
- Click on Job Seeker at the top of the page or fill in the information in the search box on the main page.
- Do an advanced search by clicking on Advanced Search. Click on Select Job Location. Choose a city and how far you are willing to work from that city. Jobs within that driving area will be brought up.
- Enter a Job Title or key word. Click Search.
- Scroll down the page and click on a Job Title to view the complete results, including directions on how to apply.
- Review the job information to make sure you qualify before applying.
- Quit to Exit (in upper right hand corner
To Post Your Resume on the Michigan Talent Bank
- Go to www.michworks.org to access the Michigan Talent Bank.
- Go to “Looking for a Job” on the main page. Click on Create a Resume to create your resume.
- Fill in the requested information. All fields marked with a red dot and at least one method of contact are required.
- Create your User ID and PIN. Click on Submit. Be sure to keep a record of this information. Read the Privacy Statement and click on Agree.
- Click on Enter Chronological or Functional Resume. Fill in your resume information into the Resume Builder & Save it.
- Choose the area where you are willing to work by city or zip code.
- Choose how far you are willing to travel for work.
- Select at least one Job Title. (You may enter up to three)
- Click on Submit at the bottom of the page.
- Quit to exit after spell check.
To Update Your Resume on the Michigan Talent Bank
- Go to www.michworks.org to access the Michigan Talent Bank. Click on Job Seeker on the main page.
- Click on Login to update, view, activate or inactivate your resume. Enter your User ID and Pin. Click on Submit.
- Click on Update, View, Activate or inactivate your resume. Go to the part of the resume where you need to change the information.
- Click on Update at the bottom of the page when done. If you do not need to change information, click on “Quick Update”.
- Click on Search for Jobs (upper right hand corner) to get jobs that match your resume.
- Quit to Exit (in upper right hand corner).
